Privacy

Nachas helps families collect video wishes for their simchas — and, for b'nai mitzvah families who want it, write the speeches. We collect what's needed to do that, keep it private to your family, and never sell it.

What we store

• Your event: the names, occasion, and date you enter, plus a private backup of your event (approved wishes, your guest list, and — if you use the speech tools — your interview answers and drafts) so you can open it on any device with your private link.
• Wishes from guests: the name, relationship, video, written words, photo, and optional email a guest sends. Videos and photos are stored privately and only ever played through short-lived links.
• Emails: your email if you give it (for your private event link, reminders, and new-wish alerts), a guest's email if they give it (only for notes about that reel), and emails left on our website forms (for the checklist or waitlist you asked for).

Who can see a family's wishes

• Every wish goes to the family first. Nothing is public.
• The invite link lets someone send a wish. It doesn't let them see anyone else's.
• The private event link opens the whole event. Treat it like a key and don't share it.
• The reel link — only if the family creates one — lets anyone who has it watch the wishes the family approved.

Emails we send

Your private event link when you ask for it, a short note when new wishes arrive, and a few reminders around your event date (every reminder has a link to stop them). Guests who leave an email may get a thank-you from the family and a note when the family shares the reel. Emails are delivered by Resend.

Services we use

• Vercel hosts the site and stores events, wishes, and videos.
• Anthropic writes speech drafts when you use the speech tools. Anthropic's API does not use this data to train models.
• Stripe processes payments. We never see or store your card details.
• PostHog and Vercel Web Analytics show us how people use Nachas (pages visited, buttons used) so we can improve it. PostHog may use cookies or your browser's storage to do this.
• Google Fonts serves the fonts on our pages.

Children

Accounts, emails, and payments belong to adults. Wishes may show children, so guests confirm, before sending, that everyone in their video, words, or photo is happy for the family to see and keep them. If a video includes you or your child and you want it removed, email us and we'll take it down.

How long we keep it

We keep an event and its wishes until the family asks us to delete them, so the reel is still there years later.

Deleting your data

Email hello@getnachas.com and we'll delete your event, its wishes and videos, and the emails tied to it. Guests can ask us to remove a wish they sent.
